Katherine Spinella is a visual artist who makes displays and installations out of prints, paintings, relief and cast sculptures.She received her MFA degree in Studio Arts from the University of Oregon in 2013, where she continued on as Adjunct Professor of Printmaking. She has attended the Womens Studio Workshop and the Kala Art Institute as an Artist-in-Residence. She was published in the spring 2014 issue of Composite Arts Magazine along with an accompanying essay by Jessi DiTillio. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally at venues including Musée de Charmey in Switzerland, Disjecta Contemporary Art Center in Portland, OR, and Kala Art Institute in Berkeley, CA, among other galleries, museums and raw exhibition spaces. Recently, her work has supported by grants from the Oregon Arts Commission and Anderson Ranch Arts Center.
Originally from the Midwest (Detroit and Detroit Metro), Spinella currently resides in Portland, OR where she maintains a studio and is currently an Instructor and Studio Manager at the Independent Publishing Resource Center.
